Waiting list referrals

 

You can view some waiting list referrals in the NHS Wales App. 

This depends on your health board. You may still get a referral letter. 

Patients at Powys Teaching Hospital Health Board will not see referrals at hospitals in England. 

Ways to view your waiting list referrals 

You can check your referrals in different ways. 

From a notification

If you have notifications turned on, you’ll get one when you have a new message in the App. Select the notification, log in to the App, and you’ll go straight to the message. Follow the link in the message to see your referral in My health timeline. 

Notifications do not work in the web browser version of the App. 

From unread messages 

Select View my unread messages. 

If you have a new message, you’ll see a red circle next to Messages on your home screen. This will say you have been added to a waiting list.

From the homepage 

Select Appointments, then Waiting list referral. 

From My health timeline 

Select My health, then My health timeline. 

Use filters to find Waiting list referrals. 

What you’ll see 

  • NHS number 
  • Joined list on
  • Specialty 
  • Description 

This may look different depending on your health board and the service. 

To change or cancel a referral, follow the instructions in the hospital's health timeline event.
