2.3. This Cookie Policy should be read alongside the App Privacy Policy

3. Use of Cookies

3.1. DSPP uses cookies to deliver the NHS Wales App. These are small files which are widely used to make websites and apps work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide services and functionalities for users.

3.2. We use two types of cookie on the NHS Wales App:

  • cookies that we need to put on your device for the NHS Wales App to work ("strictly necessary cookies")
  • optional analytic cookies to collect information about how the NHS Wales App is used to help us improve it (sometimes referred to as "performance cookies")

3.3.      We ask you to accept our Cookie Policy when you accept the NHS Wales App terms of use and privacy policy. In doing so, you agree to let us put the strictly necessary cookies on your device.

3.4.      We also offer you the choice of accepting or declining the optional analytic cookies that help us improve NHS Wales App performance.

4. Strictly necessary cookies we need to set

A table of strictly necessary cookies we need to put on your device for the NHS Wales App to work is contained in Appendix A.

5. Optional analytic cookies

5.1. We use software called Google Analytics and Qualtrics to collect performance data about how people use the NHS Wales App. The information helps us to improve the app.

5.2. Your "client IP address" is transmitted to Google Analytics and Qualtrics as part of performance data but is not stored. We cannot identify individuals from your client IP address. No other personal information (for example, your name or address) is collected.

5.3. We do not allow Google or Qualtrics to use or share our analytics data.

5.4. You can choose whether to allow optional analytic cookies in the NHS Wales App. To change your preference:

  • Go to More.
  • Select Account and settings.
  • Select Legal and cookies.
  • Then select Manage cookies.

6.2. You can select your cookie preferences so that you do not get any cookies (except strictly necessary cookies) if you prefer not to receive them.

6.3. You can also delete the cookies already on your device, and you can set your browser or device to prevent them being placed.

6.4. If you set your preferences to restrict cookies, it could limit the functionality of the NHS Wales App.

6.5. If you do not allow cookies, the Feedback button will not appear. This means that you will not be able to send feedback from within the App. Find out how to send feedback in the App

7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
